About the Course
In the late1930’s, after attempting to join Pennrose Country Club and being turned down, Hugh P. Griffin, Sr. decided to build his own golf course on farm land that he owned. With the help of his son, Hugh Griffin Jr, some neighbors and mule power, Monroeton Golf Club was born.
The greens’ surface was a mixture of sand and clay.
Monroeton Golf Club opened in 1939. The public nine hole golf course charged 25 cents per round .
During World War II, the course was closed but opened soon after the war.

Over the years the greens were converted to bent grass and nine more holes were added. Now some eighty years after the original opening, the club is being enjoyed by many.
Mark Lambeth manages the course as the Owner, General Manager.
